Shop accidentally reveals the price of GTA 6 before pre-sale.

A recent leak following the announcement of the start of Grand Theft Auto VI’s pre-sale on June 25 has heightened anticipation and fan worries. A major retailer in Portugal mistakenly revealed the potential prices for various editions of the game, hinting that the upcoming Rockstar release may be priced higher than the usual industry norm.

The Net Workshop had announced last week that the pre-sale for the game would begin this week, signaling the start of the countdown to its release on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Recent rumors suggest the expected cost for players to secure a copy of the game.

Portuguese shop displays five versions of GTA 6.

The details emerged when the Portuguese retailer FNAC added five distinct variants of the game to its database, labeled with internal codes ranging from “RS1” to “RS5”, sparking rumors about the potential release of several editions of GTA 6.

Prices are listed as shown:

  • Standard version costs € 89.99.
  • Deluxe Edition: € 109.99
  • Premium Edition costs € 119.99.
  • Collector’s Edition can cost as much as €199.99.

The basic version would be priced around R$ 570, and the deluxe edition could cost over R$ 1,250 if taxes and regional fees are not taken into account. If these prices are accurate, GTA 6 could be among the priciest AAA games ever launched.

Rockstar Games or Take-Two have not officially confirmed anything yet. Insiders and retail experts believe that the prices mentioned may just be temporary and used internally by stores until the developer announces the official price.

Will GTA 6 introduce a different pricing range?

Analysts have been debating whether GTA 6 could increase the upper limit for the price of AAA games. The market has shifted from the standard $60 to $70, with some recent titles from Nintendo and other publishers exploring the $80 range.

If Rockstar opts for a figure higher than the current $70, it could have a significant impact on the industry in the years ahead.

Some members of the community argue that the European price of €89.99 may not translate to a $100 cost for the game in the United States, as European prices are typically inflated due to local taxes.

When will GTA 6 pre-order commence?

The pre-order for GTA 6 will start on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Gamers will be able to reserve the game from the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and certain physical stores. Rockstar has not yet revealed information on the different editions or official prices.

The company is expected to announce the official price and features of each version when reservations open. Additional details on pre-order bonuses and special editions will be disclosed in the following weeks.

Rockstar has confirmed the launch date of GTA 6 as November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no current information regarding a PC release.
