WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook experienced instability on Tuesday, the 23rd.

WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook experienced disruptions on Tuesday night. Users from different areas encountered issues with Meta services, particularly concerning messaging and content sharing.

During the Net Workshop, we identified issues such as WhatsApp not sending messages for approximately two minutes and Instagram experiencing difficulties in updating the feed intermittently.

During the writing tests, only Facebook, among Meta apps, functioned normally, suggesting that the issue does not impact all users.

The initial surge of reports of issues with WhatsApp and Instagram started around 5:55 PM (Bolivian Time) based on information from Downdetector, a real-time online platform monitoring service.

WhatsApp had issues when sending messages.

WhatsApp users encountered challenges when trying to send messages, with some messages showing the watch icon, suggesting they were not reaching the platform servers.

Some users also experienced delays when downloading media and playing audio files.

Instagram was unable to load the feed.

On Instagram, issues appeared to be primarily connected to the feed refresh. While testing the Net Workshop, there was a temporary halt in the loading of new posts, mirroring users’ experiences on social media platforms.

Complaints were also made about Stories and profile loading.

Facebook received a lower number of problem reports.

Downdetector registered a few issues related to Facebook, but the platform seemed to be the least impacted by the instability that occurred that evening.

The app and web version of the social network operated without issues while WhatsApp and Instagram had problems.

Meta has not made a statement yet.

Until the release of this article, Meta had not revealed an official stance detailing the reasons for the instability that impacted its primary services on Tuesday (23).

Some people visit X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their complaints or make light of the situation.

Instagram and WhatsApp experienced technical issues, while Mark Zuckerberg announced that he is stepping down from his role.

Many people often ask if Instagram and WhatsApp are down or if it’s just their internet connection. This situation always seems to occur.
