Redmi K90 Ultra has been launched featuring Snapdragon 8 8.550 Elite processor and a large battery capacity.

Xiaomi has recently launched the Redmi K90 Ultra, a high-end gaming smartphone designed for the Chinese market. The successor to the Redmi K80, this device boasts top-of-the-line features such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a large 8,550 mAh battery, and a unique active cooling system with an internal fan.

What does the Redmi K90 Ultra provide?

The Redmi K90 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip produced by TSMC using the latest 3nm technology. It is paired with LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1, offering configurations of up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

Xiaomi enhanced the smartphone by including a specialized D2 graphic chip, designed for gaming, to enhance features like super-resolution, frame interpolation, and AI graphical enhancements.

The main distinction lies in the cooling mechanism, which includes an 18.1 mm physical fan integrated into the smartphone body. This fan, combined with a large 6,000 mm2 steam chamber, effectively regulates temperature during extended periods of heavy usage. The system is designed to operate at a low noise level of just 32 dB as per the manufacturer.

The Redmi K90 Ultra features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display on the front with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 pixels (1.5K) and a 165 Hz refresh rate. It also includes an under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

The display provides a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, HDR10+ compatibility, Dolby Vision, 12-bit color depth, and DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It also offers gamers a touch response rate of up to 480 Hz and an impressive 3,500 Hz instant sampling rate, which helps reduce command latency.

The Redmi K90 Ultra stands out for its impressive battery capacity of 8,550 mAh, making it one of the largest ever seen in a premium Xiaomi smartphone. Additionally, it supports fast charging up to 100 W with the GaN charger included in the package, and offers reverse charging capability at 22.5 W through a wired connection to recharge other devices.

The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP primary camera with the Light Hunter 800 sensor and OIS, along with an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera has a resolution of 20 MP. Additionally, the device supports video recording up to 8K and has IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications.

The device also includes stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, HyperOS 3 built on Android 16, and a specialized chip that enhances the network signal quality, providing stability during gaming and reducing internet fluctuations.

Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the global release of the Redmi K90 Ultra, but rumors suggest it may be launched internationally as the POCO F9 Ultra, possibly including markets like Brazil.
