Casio introduces five new self-winding watches made with carbon fiber and sapphire crystal.

Casio introduced five new automatic EFK-200 Edifice line models to its high-end watch collection, featuring advanced materials like forged carbon, unique dial finishes, sapphire crystal, and a self-winding mechanical movement crafted in Japan.

The new collection includes EFK-200XPB-1AJF, EFK-200CD-1AJF, EFK-200D-2AJF, EFK-200D-4AJF, and EFK-200DG-5AJF models, providing various options in materials and designs catering to different style preferences.

What are the features provided by the new Casio Edifice EFK-200?

The standout feature of the latest collection is the EFK-200XPB-1AJF, which is seen as the most advanced model in the series. It incorporates carbon forged in both the case and dial, a material created by combining carbon fibers with resin in high temperatures and pressure. This process produces a distinct marbling design in every piece and a lightweight of only 81 grams.

This design includes a stainless steel hoop coated in ionized black, a urethane strap, and a clasp that folds with a release button.

The EFK-200CD-1AJF is another choice that maintains the carbon dial but switches the case to stainless steel and includes a sturdy metal bracelet, resulting in a weight of 153 grams for a more substantial presence on the wrist.

The remaining three members of the collection opt for electroformed dials instead of carbon, coated with multiple layers of varnish to produce a textured appearance that degrades over time. The EFK-200D-2AJF and EFK-200D-4AJF feature conventional stainless steel cases and bracelets, while the EFK-200DG-5AJF is adorned with ionized gold coating on both the case and the bracelet.

Even though they may appear different on the outside, all individuals have the same internal mechanical components. Clocks are equipped with a Japanese automatic movement featuring 21 rubies, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a 42-hour power reserve, a seconds stop function (hacking), and a calendar with a date display. Casio states that the average accuracy ranges from -20 to +40 seconds per day.

The new Edifice features a compact size with a 38 mm case, 11.9 mm thickness, and a distance of about 43.6 mm between the lugs, making it suitable for various wrist sizes.

All models feature sapphire crystal for its high resistance to damage and are also water-resistant up to 100 meters, making them suitable for recreational water activities.
